Justicar had arisen with the same purpose of days past. Her desire to capture the Junk-wolf or at the very least to knock him into the river as a punishment was still unfulfilled, he'd managed to elude her whilst still bothering other members of the pack. The scents that had been faint from the prior day bugged her to no end, while she'd been checking out more remote sections there had been strangers about in the territory. It felt like a failing even though she'd not done anything wrong. Letting out a rough breath the bitch would shake her head slightly in displeasure, before making her way back towards the den- having doubled back from her self-defined patrol route. She'd not had a chance to catch up with her Queen yet either, which paired with those monstrous nightmares was putting the Sentinel on edge. Sometimes it felt that her mind was fraying at the edges, and she'd easily fall from her perch. But Kari knew that was neither here nor there, sometimes sacrifices must be made in the line of duty. She did not need to live her life in search of a purpose because it was right here laid out in front of her eyes; she'd accepted what she could never change. Justice is sweet and musical, and the injustice harsh and discordant. As long as she kept her values she'd not lose her mind in the process right?
Caliska had had a rough start to her new journey. Thinking she was on the path to find friends to travel with, she instead found a bunch of harsh, no fun, and one super stinky freak. She still had vines hanging from her antlers that just wouldn't budge, slightly wet fur from taking a tumble in the water, and nerves that were still buzzing. The only thing she knew to do was find a quiet, dark corner away from all the others until morning light came, and then she could begin her travels again. With a great yawn and a stretch of each hind leg, Caliska got up from her hidey hole. Pale eyes examined the area, realizing that no one else was around (thankfully not the freak that tried to chase her either) then little legs scurried away, hoping no would see her leaving.
Justicar paused suddenly in her movements, her ears twitching briefly as she turned her head in a different direction from her original destination. There was someone around here, flaring her nostrils for a long moment she could almost certainly get a soft whiff of damp fur. Which near enough crossed Holster from the potential stranger who was hovering around then, for there was no way that junk-wolf would take a bath voluntarily. Unless someone had beat her to him- Harasho. There was no way. She slowly takes off after the scent, making a quiet approach before slowing down as she got closer. No need to cause a panic to them- What in the name of her ancestors- Did that wolf have antlers? Why could Kari not have antlers? Mind they seemed to be in a bit of a state with all that vine hanging off of them, She calmly revealed her position from afar- but was ready to close the distance if need be, "I couldn't help but notice you there! Are you alright?" voice rang out sounding concerned, and genuine. And using her body language to convey some degree of authority, but keeping rather low down. She didn't want to spook this deer-wolf. Such fun strangers were cropping up really! And well. Kari was always a glutton in terms of curiosities, "Please, Wait just a moment. I'd like to help you out if I can. I'm Justicar, I won't allow you harm."
Caliska's ears twitched at every direction. She was on edge; the last thing she wanted was for one of the scary wolves to notice her leaving. She had no idea what she would do if one did notice her. Yeah, she could run, but with these stupid vines blocking most of her vision, she’s probably getting herself in the same predicament she got herself into earlier. Sure, the antlers were pretty and her whole family ogled over them, but they were nuisances. They made a quick escape impossible, they made hunting a chore, and they got caught up in everything and anything. Caliska wanted them gone. Lost in her own hated over the things atop her head, she didn't notice the canine coming up from behind her until its voice broke the silence. Her whole body stiffened and tail went directly between her legs. She was far too scared to turn around, even though this one was nice enough to introduce itself instead of chasing her or barking harsh orders. Caliska, not knowing what to do or what this canine would do to her, just lowered her body all the way to the ground, tail tucked and ears flat and back to the other wolf. "Please," she pleaded. "Don't hurt me." She heard the other one say it meant no harm, but you could never be too sure. That's one thing she's already realized in her short time being away from her family.
Justicar observed the other wolf for a lingering moment. She was trying to anticipate how likely they were to turn around and attack if put under any more stress, or would they remain broken like they are currently? Kari doubted this one could be crew material without some serious talking to, or at the very least a reached understanding with someone like her Queen. Something about this one reminded her of herself, but far more scared and skittish. And with an impressive rack upon her head that Kari was beginning to feel more envious about, that was seriously an unfair thing for another wolf to have when Kari was still as boring to look at as she'd ever been in her life, Feh. "Please. Listen to me. I am bound by duty, and by my own code of honour. I would not harm you when you are scared, defenceless." She approaches slowly, giving the other some room still. And she circles round to the front of her. "Look at me. I will not move at you without your permission. I'd like to help you." She speaks in a soothing tone, it’s been a long time since anyone she's met has required the gentle touch but she's willing to give it a shot once again. She bows her head slightly in a show of trust, "If you would allow me, your antlers must be weighing you down like that. I could help you to clear them off. Only if you'd allow me of course." the words fall from her tongue in her usual formal fashion, but she keeps warmth to them that are usually reserved only for her Queen Syledia. Ah, where could she be...
Caliska simply stayed still and kept her words to herself. Though she couldn't quiet see past the dang greenery that seemed to become a permanent part of her, her eyes stayed on this figure that seemed so welcoming and inviting. However, she knew she couldn't quite trust it yet. Even though she spoke words that seemed so true, she could've just been buttering her up for dinner. If the stranger were to make a move though, there was nothing she could do. Or that she knew she was able to do. So, she just laid there and nodded her head when the stranger asked if she could help. Caliska knew she needed it and maybe this stranger's words were true.
Justicar. Sentinel felt a twitch in her mind, and for a stark moment of the others consent found herself haunted with the delightful prospect of having them in her control. What could she not do? She'd seen others rip the antlers from deer after they had died but what would happen if you stripped them from a living one? Or a wolf? But... No, No! That is not who she is, she is not some crazed lunatic like Holster. She has morals. She has standards. She leans up towards the others antlers and begins to gnaw the vines away from them, blinking away the images her mind is putting forth of doing something different to the scared bitch. It's the exhaustion; it has to be her overtired mind putting ridiculous notions into her subconscious. Kari does not kill the innocent, or the weak. As she pulls away vines carefully, for but a moment her eyes dilate. But does Justicar? How thin is this line she walks? It could be broken any day now. But as she pulls away the last vines she smiles warmly at the other wolf, her eyes slowly refocusing as she regains some of her moral ground, "There. Is that not better for you? I apologize that I couldn't do it faster, but I didn't want to risk damaging your antlers. I've not done that before I confess!" she chuckles softly, almost too softly as if she's trying to reassure her own mind that she'd not gone off the deep end for a moment there. "Now... How did you get in this mess? I'd like to make sure you are alright before I leave you to it."
Caliska laid there and put her utter trust into this strange female. Her head seemed to get pounds lighter as she took the vines off. As she was working on the last bit, Caliska stood and pulled away, letting her pull it off, and gave a huge shake before sitting back on her rump. "It's a lot better, thank you." She timidly said with the smallest crack of a smile. "Well, I was traveling along when I came across the scent of this group. I'm alone out there, so I thought I would attempt to make some friends." Youngster lingered on the word 'alone'. She was alone out there and it was harder than she had expected. Her grandmother had talked it up to be the greatest experience in the world, but it wasn't. It was too late to turn back now. "When I saw everyone, I decided they weren't exactly the kind of, uh, friends, I was searching for. So I turned and darted the other way and well, I got caught up." She let out a little snicker, laughing at her own stupidity. "Thank you again for helping me out... Uh, what was your name again?" She knew the stranger told her, but she couldn't quite remember it.
Justicar listened to the other curiously, cataloguing the information for further use in case she needed to speak with Syledia about this strange scared one. Although at their mention of the group of wolves she'd rather not be friends with, she felt a pang of concern followed by an acceptance. That might actually be some of the pack, or it could be that junk-wolf again! Either way it seemed the other had been given a bad first impression, "That is a shame. My pack comes off like that right now. We've been unfortunate to be plagued with a stray junk-wolf whom smells dreadful. We're trying to chase him off. And we have people returning that aren't ready yet. It is possible you got caught up in an encounter with Holster. He causes us frustration. I apologize that it was shown to you though..." she lowered her eyes in a sort of- (false) apology. Before smiling again, "I'm Justicar. But my trusted friends call me Kari, You can if you'd like... What was your name again dear?”
Caliska smiled when she said 'junk-wolf'. That sounded about right. He was something else, something nasty and unpleasant. "I see," she spoke in her normal, cheerful voice. It obviously didn't take much for this little wolf to trust someone, which would probably become a weakness of hers. "Nice to meet you, Kari. I am Caliska." She introduced herself with a bow. While lifting her head back up, it was clear she was in thought by the look on her face. "May I ask what this pack calls itself?"
Justicar offered the other a smile of continued reassurance, glad that she'd managed to push the blame onto that wolf. She knew very well that most all could be welcome in the pack if they could figure themselves out; she was rather confident that Cali was just young and untrained. With some time and god forbid patience this strange individual could at the very least handle the rather aggressive and formidable lot that Kari lived amongst, "It is a pleasure Calis.." and tilting her head for a moment returns the bow in a polite fashion, "It is The Crew, my dear. And we follow our Queen whom has brought us all back together again." there is an overly fond look on her face; she can feel the muscles contort into a dorkish smile. She forces it back into a neutral but cheery expression, "I think you've gotten off on the wrong paw. But you might still like it if I can tell you more perhaps?".
