Justicar felt a wave of exhaustion pulse through her brutishly overworked frame, as always the day had found her pushing at her limits with all the stubborn determination she could muster up after the morning she'd made for herself. She'd patrolled the territory through the day, keeping a keen eye on the scent markers put in place by her Queen and seeking out the junk-wolf that had caused trouble before. But so far she'd wasted her day, and the strain of her tired golden eyes wouldn't cease pestering her senses with unnecessary blinking- and the flinch she couldn't quell when she walked once more around, she'd lost most of the light by now and relied heavily on the scent to track her way back home. Perhaps she'd made a misstep at some point as she doubled back, the scenery kept morphing back into that wasteland that had shaken her awake this morning. The incredibly vivid nightmare had driven her out to patrol and check the safety of the pack, of her Queen. She wondered if she'd been noticed as she made her way out onto a much earlier trip around, whilst it was true she liked to patrol and look for any violation or error- and liked to get an idea of if any of the pack were straying from the lands a tad too far, right now they were still few and she worried from time to time of the lack of defense. They were not 'The Crew' just yet, still reforming into the proud and strong pack. The lead was righteous and would no doubt lead them to prosperity... but for now she would continue limiting herself, her intake of the food supply. Her heavy presence in the territory. She could not become an unnecessary strain upon her family now. Lest the smouldering embers from her nightmare prove true a second time. Squinting into the darkness, she let out a low rumbling noise - before knocking right into a large rock. Who put that there?! Letting out a low growl before shaking it off, this looked familiar. Perhaps she is nearly home then. "My Queen?" she hesitates, "Antics? - Have I gone as daft as to have lost my way..." the strain of her tired eyes didn't help her to recognize what she was doing, but she seemed to be on the right path for now. "Anyone?" she lets out a call, ears pricking up keenly. All other senses felt a bit shot from the early rush out.
Syledia. Young Queen had been away from her chosen den for a few days now taking to the large waterfalls that enriched the lands. They were beautiful and refreshing. It was a shame shed chosen to live so far from them, but none the less shed vowed to visit from time to time to recap and consult with her ancestors. Though the spirits decided to remain silent this trip Syl needed them now more than ever with the growing stress reviving The Crew is causing her. Returning home Syl was anxious to see if Kari had any news for her, had Miat returned with said Prodigy? If there was no word Syl would set out and search for her uncle. Lady was close to home when the familiar scent of Kari's marking hit her nostrils, her voice broke into the silence of the night moments after and with a grin Syl approached from behind. Dark queen remained in the shadows as her Sentinel called out to her, or anyone for that matter. Leaping up onto a rock to overlook the scene, Syl watched as Kari seemed confused even though she was going the right way. Hmm. "You know...” her voice broke the silence in a loud slightly eerie tone "You should be careful who you call out to in the night." shed add after a brief moment. Syl stood tall on her perch, overlooking her pack mate and the area. "You never know who is going to pop out of the shadows." shed add before leaping down and landing beside the lady. Syl seemed to have a different sense of pride as she began walking past Kari and into the lands shed claimed a few weeks ago. It was nice to be home, even if she loved the falls. Oh so pretty.
Justicar felt that some fool had once claimed that absence made the heart grow fonder, perhaps in the past she might have even thought it false as well. But in the wake of the Queen's brief absence the Sentinel had been plagued by monstrous nightmares, if she were less inclined to her focus she supposed she'd not be able to function around them. But she'd grown used to them over these short years, the discovery had just but fresh feedback for her mind to twist around with. The coiling memories and distorted scenes that played in her head each night would be enough to drive a weaker bitch insane, but she'd still got a hold of herself regardless of what some might suspect. The moment of silence she felt would drive fear into her numbed senses did nothing but leave her almost bored of herself. Blinking wearily before form jolted in alarm at the presence coming up behind her, the scent barely registering to her at first as the scenery once again blurred into a falsehood, "My Queen..." her words feel almost heavy with emotion before she forces it down in favour of her formal, more controlled persona. It is true; she has been rather foolish in calling out at this time of night. But something inside was pestering her intensely to look, the sudden appearance of Syledia couldn't possibly be the reason? No, that was too unlikely. Even for one as ironically lucky as Kari, "I don't know about that, if this is what the shadows bring forth... Well it might be better than what they give me in my sleep. Far more lovely to see." she paused, in the midst of yet again a bit of subtle flirtation- and realized that she had started to do it without really meaning to. She'd really need to do something about that before her exhausted mind began to spout out even worse pick-up lines. Following close to Syledia, her eyes drifting for a moment to the dark skies- the lights up there barely registering to her botched vision. Letting out a soft huff of exertion as she kept her pace matched, "It is good to see you; I have little to report of incidents. I tracked around for the Junk- Holster, I mean. I've not pinned him down just yet; the nuisance seems pretty good at avoiding detection when he wants to."
