Syledia had been awake the whole night, staring out and watching as birds and rodents scurried by without stopping. Antics' was right, she had much to learn, and the last thing she wanted was to dishonour her family. Even though Syl lacked experience the young queen was fearless, a trait that was very much evident in both her great grandparents. Fearless and proud. Time to be the Queen the Crew needed. Syledia rose from her perch after being a statue the whole night, beginning the morning by remarking every tree in the vicinity, they were hers after all. Little dribble here, little dribble there. That little bastard from the night before was going to push her buttons, and she knew it. Syl had never had to be the angry bitch that she was last night, but if he was to stick around she wasn't going to let him walk all over her, that was for sure. Syl stood tall as she glanced around her claimed lands, there were many scents that littered the area, but her's took over with ease. Thoughts began to rack the Queens mind then as she thought about Kari and the events that unfolded as the day went on. It would seem Kari was flirting with the young queen, was Syl ready for that?
Justicar. Exhausted Bitch had settled down on her favourite rock, her golden eyes remaining alert as she surveyed the lands she had sworn to protect for her Queen. Her expression softened as the picture of Syledia came into her mind, the time by the river still plagued her mind and she guessed it was because she had forfeit her rest to back the still wakened Queen who had perched above them all last night, like some kind of glorious Valkyrie keeping all of her focus on her greater test. Letting out a tired sigh the older wolf rose from her resting position, stretching out painfully as points on her creak almost disturbingly from the extended posture she'd kept up. It was perhaps unnecessary for her to have also stayed awake but part of her felt responsible for the rinsing that Antics had given the queen, having grown used to such bitter words in her past membership of the crew. Seeking out the queen as soon as Dear Syledia had risen from her observation of the lands. The tired edge to her eyes the clear indicator of her solemn wake, she offers up a small smile to Syledia. As she tried to shake the near overwhelming memories that had plagued her all night. She'd been flirting with her Queen; surely she had lost her mind over these two long years alone? She wondered if Antics would kill her if she kept flirting with Syledia. It was a strange thing to be pondering this early in the morning though! She clears her throat; it is rough from disuse thus far, "Morning, Queen Syledia. You have had an efficient watch. That cannot be doubted."
Syledia had been aware that her first member was also awake the majority, if not the whole night. Syl choose to remain quiet as the rest of the world slept soundly through the night, or so she’d thought. Turning to face Kari shed offer a subtle smile at her greeting "Good morning Kari, did you rest well?" shed ask curiously, making small talk even thoughts he knew the lady hadn't slept. The taste of that bastard wolf was still in her mouth, this was not a creature she wanted to put in her mouth again. "Have a bite to eat" she’d say motioning to the buck shed taken down the other day. If the lady would eat Syl would smile to herself, she was fond of Kari, but was unsure how the others would react. Harmless flirting never hurt anyone, right? Young queen did know for sure though, she wanted to know more about the lady. "So Kari" shed pause smiling at the name shed chosen to call her by "Have you decided on a rank in which you would like to try for?" shed ask, trying to sound more diplomatic, instead of a love struck teenager.
Justicar felt almost ridiculous that at her age, she was still developing crushes on others like some naive whelp. But now her mind had grown as ridiculous as to fall for someone a full five years younger than her. And the granddaughter of her former king nonetheless, Kari was starting to suspect that she might truly be insane in the membrane this had to be proof of it. What chance did she honestly have? Upon the deigned presence of her current problem, she offered up a warm almost goofy smile. Bad Justicar, “It was a calm night; it was not too straining to remain awake last night. I have no doubt that your influence is the reason." there was subtle flirting, and then there was Justicar's particular brand of stupid words that she hopes will stick in a good way, "Thank you for asking, how do you fare this morning dear Queen?" a keen sparkle in her golden eyes, she turns her head when offered food. And to be polite walks over to eat her minimum, she was always loathe to eat the pack supplies. Justicar feels somewhat relieved of her pooling hunger as she chews down the meat, so used to eating little compared to what she should as to keep food around for others to hunt. Licking her lips as she finishes and stretching out, lean muscles rolling as she tried to remove the stiffness that threatened her joints. Nodding in a show of thanks for the food, and upon the query of her thoughts on a rank seemed momentarily confused. "I've only known Warrior. My birth pack placed it and my name on me on birth. I didn't get the choice...” she seemed to hesitate, knowing full well that Decorum lay in smouldering rubble- just carrion picked over by vultures... But something in her beckons her to give Syl an idea of her future ideal, "I have... Pondered the rank of Sentinels, I was not bred for it. And I’d need to prove myself without a doubt. But I’d like to find a place here that is more than just something in my past? I might not be making sense... I apologize Syl". So distracted, she doesn't realize she's forgotten to tack in Queen to her words.
Syledia. Queen waited for Kari to speak of her night, her words indicating that her own presence made staying up easier for her. "You did not need to stay awake Kari, I had much to think about." she’d say softly. It was not Syl's intent to keep the lady up, but if she did so that was her own accord. As the question was directed at herself the young lady would look to the brightly lit sky as the sun beamed down on her thick dark coat. "I am just fine this morning Kari, thank you for asking." shed say in a soft voice as she turned her head back to look at Kari. Once the lady was done eating Syl would shake out her fur and motion for Kari to join her as she turned and walked away from the courtyard, up a faded path the humans must have used years ago before Syledia claimed the lands. As they walked away from their home Syl would pay attention to every work the lady spoke as she explained her former position and her desired new role. A nod would be given here and there to let Kari know she was still paying close attention. Syl's tail seemed to gently rub against the Kari's as they walked and for a moment Syl's attention was faltered as the lady apologized for thinking she wasn't making sense. Dark lady who bore a hint of colour from both her great grandparents let out a rumbling chuckle as she apologized. "Do not apologize for expressing interest in a higher rank my dear, it shows you want to improve and grow as a pack and be part of something more." Syl's words were wise as she spoke. "Sentinel is a position of respect and authority; you would be required to know where each and every member of the pack is placed in the hierarchy. You would be required to keep order and peace between the unruly members." Syl would pause and stop as she turned to face her first member and a loyal one at that. Standing proud before the older wolf that had much more experience than herself, this was serious now. "I trust you can make the judgement, to step in when things get out of hand, to make The Crew proud in keeping the peace. But above all, I trust you will work hard and prove this is a position you can be proud of and work hard to keep." voice was serious as she spoke, not like the goofy chatter they had before, no this was a serious matter, and her first ranked member as of right now. Lady felt a connection to Kari, a mutual trust between the two. If Nakisai trusted this lady to be warrior, then Syl felt she could trust her as well.
Justicar feels a burst of pure relief when nothing comes to threaten her for her forwardness, some part of her had expected Antics to burst from the under works with some more words of accusation. But almost pleasantly it seemed that it wasn't going to come to pass anytime soon at the least! She seems a touch embarrassed at the mention of not having to stay awake, "I felt a connection.. I wanted to be there.” she murmurs softly to herself- but not as quiet as she intended to say it. As the other began to walk out of the courtyard Kari made sure to follow by her side peacefully, there was no chance of shaking her now that she was curious about this after all. And keeping up a steady pace beside her queen she took the moment to once again look her over, glad that it was just the two of them in this instance as they had not been able to talk privately since the others had returned. Especially after the drama that junk-wolf had been causing by pissing places he shouldn't be. If the queen didn't get him herself; if he didn't stop then Kari would be sure to go find him and refresh the lesson the queen had tried to enforce upon him. It did seem like Antics was stuck upon Nakisai still, and whilst she respected the former king. Well it was childish to insist that the new Queen must conform to your own wishes, And when Antics was ranked Justicar would no doubt begin to give her back her leeway but for now all she can claim is her bloodline. Kari would not be swayed against Syledia without some proper force, and even then... She didn't think she could allow harm to come to this lady even at the cost of her own life, she would be certain to be there for her no matter what would happen. Her life was mostly forfeit anyway, she felt almost certain that Syl's tail was brushing against her own intentionally. A slight shiver travelling up her spine as she realizes and tries to continue on casually with a response, "I, will not apologize again then.." her own tail casually brushes Syl's own once more, and as the Queen turns to face her; dark wolf shows the keenest of interest in both her words and Syledia's presence, "I swear upon my life. I will uphold it with all my power, I would not disobey the laws and I will enforce them for you. Like a true Justicar. My judgement will be keen, and it will be absolute." as if she could feel the seriousness of the moment, everything on her face melted away to honesty. The connection between them a near thrum of consistency, "I will never make you regret this trust."
Syledia. Red ears twitched as she heard Kari mention a connection and a soft smile formed on her lips. It was nice to know it was not just her who felt that bond. A new friendship and it seemed Syl was beginning to think more of the lady than just a new member from the former days of The Crew's reign. As they walked on Syl smirked to herself as their tails touched again, was this a game now? Regardless Syl refused to say anything aloud. As things got more serious and Syl stood like an alpha before her pack mate, all hints of affection were held at bay, no evidence in her demeanour or expression. Syl had to know she could be the Alpha when it was time, and that what it boiled down to. Her Crew could not see this affection for the lady and Syl hoped they both knew it. Regardless of the growing affection for her new friend. Ears were alert after she spoke, waiting for Kari to respond. Just as Syl had wanted Kari became serious as well, vowing to uphold the laws once set by her kin. "I trust your judgement will be fair as well. By accepting this position you are agreeing to enforce the very rules you once stood for with Nakisai under my rule. And if you fail to uphold those you acknowledge the risks involved in failing, resulting in banishment or possibly death." Syl remained in a stance that both portrayed that she was in fact her Queen and would act as such when the time came to it. The very rules that her great grandfather enforced, was hers now and she would vow to make him proud. She has vowed to make him proud. As Kari mentioned Syl never making her regret her decision Syl would simply nod her hear not feeling the need to add to it. Syl sure hoped she was right.
Justicar accepted to words bestowed upon her obediently, growing feelings aside she knew that this was a queen before her, and that this queen would do everything in her power to uphold the legacy of that bloodline. Part of her was almost sad at the fact that they may well never be able to be truly free of it, but her loyalty wins over her self-doubt. She is too use to being selfless, a forfeit life and an unimportant one was bestowed upon her at birth. But she would uphold this rank with all the seriousness and valour that had been given as a Warrior, and if the day came that she failed... She prayed for death instead of Banishment. For there was truly nowhere else for her to go if she did indeed fail this lovely Queen, "I understand, and will welcome your judgement if that ever comes to pass. And if it is decreed. I would accept your sentence without a fight." And she lowered herself down, neck stretched out as she displayed submission. A vulnerable position for any sane wolf to take of their own wills, "This do me, Justicar, Swear to you. Thank you for the opportunity". She remains in this submissive position for a few long moments, and if told to rise back up- does so.
Syledia. Young Queen was happy things remained serious while on the topic of titles, Syl would shift her weight to the side as Kari spoke of willingly accepting her judgement if it so happened to come to that. Eyes stayed locked on Kari as she bowed and swore to just as shed asked. "I trust you’ll make me proud Kari." she’d say softly before touching her head off her new sentinel. "You may rise with the proud title." She’d add before turning and making her way back to the lands she’d claimed many moons ago, the back was growing and things were falling into place. It was a nice feeling no doubt.
